Yesterday, 8/8, was Chinese father's day - 8 is pronounced "ba" - Daddy/Papa is "baba" so it really writes itself... Interestingly, in Taiwan the western father's day is also celebrated. Signs at Sogo - one of the big dept store chains - have ads up advertising BaBa stuff with the dates June 16-August 8. That's nice, cuz why not just have summer be BaBa season? Why just one day to celebrate the man?

good guess - and since yr the only guesses you win the prize! But the gift is a battery operated nose hair trimmer! If you click on one of the pics to enlarge it - you can almost see a cartoon nose on the box...
We've been watching a show called Queer eye for the straight guy - and they get almost every straight guy they make-over a nose-hair trimmer. Ryan mentioned "i should get one of those" So he did!
