Ivo says NOOOO

Until this week, Ivo relied on "mei yo," "bu yao" and/or a combo of those to verbalize a negative response. He could say "no" but used it mostly as a finger-waving joke or, on occassion, performance piece.

2 weeks ago, he began adding a "no" after his Chinese. It was a smart move - covering bases, disarming possible argue-ers... Generally offering clarification - making himself understood. He's been adding so many new words and sentence-building lately, sometimes the idiots around him aren't imaginitive enough to comprehend what he's saying... His "No." is long and slow. It is a complete sentence.

So now, this week, he's embraced "nooo" in a new way.

Are you happy? No.

Are you hungry No.

Are you an elephant? No.

Are you Ivo? No.

Are you Dash? No.

Do you want candy? No.

His o sound is beautiful and round!

Last night in the bath (oh yea, 2nd bath poop this week... not so funny), I asked him if he was ok. He said "No. I yo achoo." yo = have. He calls runny/stuffy nose "boogs." And he's got 'em!

Over the last 2 weeks, he's become interested in and communicative about walking as opposed to being carried ("bao bao baba/mama," "Dash bao boa baba/mama"). He now says "I/Wo walk" and "Dash walk." He retains bu yao for it's literal "I don't want' meaning often saying, "bu yao Dash walk," "bu yao Dash wawa."

Ivo-nese. Chinglish, Englese for toddlers.

Oh yea, also he's started calling his belly "baby." Makes sense given what he's heard recently!

Pics of Ivo and Dylan last week. Ivo loves riding in Dylan's car and can now say "Dylan" and "Heather." Also, as the pics allude to, Ivo's not crazy about wearing clothes. Especially long-sleeved shirts - or as he says "shits."
Oh yea, also he ate pizza like a big boy yesterday for the first time. Narrating what he was doing.
