Ivo, Ryan and I went to play at a Chung Ming Elementary School and then the Science Museum and then ice cream... Very fun day. (Monday 010107)
Yesterday (Tuesday 020107) Ivo and I tried to clean up a bit - sort through new toys, cull a few of the old ones... We had lunch with Rayne at Uncle Jimmy's. Uncle Jimmy's is a super cute, foreign products store currently on Chung De Road in Bei Tun. They say they're moving to Xi Tun soon - we'll see. It's got a co-op-y, holly hobby, crafty feel. I buy Australian ground beef from them. I don't know much about buying meat or fish anyway, so all I buy at regular stores is chicken breast. I can't bring myself to buy meat/fish at markets. I know I should but I can't. It's gross. There's blood and sneezing people.
Uncle Jimmy's serves as a Christian bookstore too. A couple of Heather's workmates teach a class there called "Marriage in the Bible" or Biblical Marriage" or something like that. It's a neat a-historical approach to living life. One that has freed them from any compunction to feign interest or respect in other cultures even whilst living among the heathen!
