Rainy and mild

These are pics from last week.

Ivo has a cold. It won't go away. It's not terrible - just a runny nose (usually clear) and a cough. He's had it since a couple days after Adriaan's bday at the playspace at the new carrefour. Probably since Tuesday 9 Jan... now it's Wed 17 Jan.

I guess it hasn't been that long but it feels long. So now I'm gonna cut dairy out of his diet. I didn't do it earlier because I was just happy when he'd eat. Cheese on a cracker, warm ginger milk tea, eggs cooked with milk... But enough already.

It's been raining since last night. Wearing short sleeves and pants, no socks is enough. Ivo's got long sleeves and socks cuz I think maybe he needs more...

Ivo's rearranging his play space to make way for his trucks. He's getting good at putting away his stuff so as to make room for other toys. He still loves drumming, piano and singing. Lately, he's been handing me a reverbing/echo toy microphone saying, "Mama, phone" and then he drums and I sing. He refuses to let me play guitar - ever. Last week, he bashed through his tamborine-drum, so now he only has one.

I'm up and down mood-wise and energy-wise. I'm scared we're not ready for Baby Burl to come. We don't have his whole name figured out. I don't have black and white stuff for him to look at. Clothes are not sorted. His hat and blanket are not knitted.

I'll be able to prepare more once school is over (Jan 26) and Gail arrives (Feb 1/2). Then - I'll feel better - then. Just a bit anxious and heart burny...

Ivo's climbing on me singing "bao bao bao bao mum..." His sock got caught and he said, "where sock go?" "Baby tiger, Big tiger, Papa tiger" He is stinky yet doesn't want a new diaper. Today I asked him how he's doing, he said, "no, 2"

If he has a cookie or piece of fruit and you ask him to give you some, he says no. But if there is plenty. He will give you the piece he has been chewing on and grab a new one for himself. Right now, he's singing "lemon juice, lemon juice, leemooon jooooce" "superdu fly, superdu fly, superdoooooo flllyyyy." We're gonna go make some lemon juice.
