Ivo, Burl and Papa Ryan on a Friday night

Ivo amazes me every day. After nap, we were reading a book called Do You Know? which is filled with pictures and lists of fast things, tall things, flying things, etc. On the small animals page, a matchstick is used to give context to how small the smallest starfish is. It's an old book - published in 1979. Many of the references are out-of-date and obscure to Ivo, who already can maneuver a computer mouse. Ivo asked what the matchstick is. I told him, it's a matchstick, we flick it on a hard surface and make a little fire. I told him he'll get to use them when he gets bigger. He thought for a couple seconds then said, "Yep. Ivo-Dash a little boy, now."

He really seems to get aging... change over time. He sees pics of himself and agrees that certain ones are of him as a baby. When Burl takes a bath, Ivo agrees that this small blue bathtub is where he took baths when he was a baby. And it seems like he understands that he's gonna get big.

Ryan shaved his beard - he now has sort of a handlebar mustache. Looks good!
