Not as funny as it looks
Just as pathetic as it looks
Ivo requests the cool towel, my poor poor baby.
Burl is nursing. Both boys have the big D(iarrhea). Not epic - still less than a dozen diapers/day. I did not say less than 10.
Yesterday nap, Ivo had the first bad dream he could explain. "I scared da monsters!" Fever. Dissipated without medicine.
Ivo had a fever all night but wasn't complaining or waking up all the way, so we didn't give him medicine. He was fine today til noon. Fever of 102.7F (somewhere along the way thermometer changed to F and I can't get C back). He had motrin and rested for an hour. He was all sweaty afterwards and agreed to ice-cream but after a bite wouldn't/couldn't eat more. But an hour later, Ivo was happy and chatty and happily playing, so I thought fever must have broken and kicked the virus out. Happy lasted about 2 hours.
But fever came back at 7pm after he'd eaten a little potato (no appetite - fights fluids). Same thing happened with ice-cream tonight (pics). When your baby will only eat one bite of ice cream and requests a towel over his eyes - which I've been trying to sneak drops into with varying degrees of success - oh, it's so sad news, as Ivo would say.
7pm - single dose motrin. Eye agony. Fever of 101.7F. By the time we get upstairs fever even higher - but thermometer says 89.4F- can't get it to work - Burl's been chewing on it. Realize we're almost out of motrin.
Contemplating this night, with a broken thermometer, precious little motrin and an increasingly hotter Ivo - I started to cry. Thought about asking Gail to fedex more motrin then texted Heather - yes, of course she has medicine for us and they'll bring it right over.
Yay - don't need it tonight but this weekend, yes.
Ryan bought us a new thermometer. 8pm Ivo's temp 39C. Another dose of motrin. 9pm - temp still 39C even after 2 doses of motrin and cool towel.
crap.
just took his sleeping temp - 37.8C...
CRAP.
I had thought we were in the clear b/w 5-7pm. I didn't go to work today.
