Sunday Afternoon

So so cool:

Retronomy - “the study and classification of retronyms."
Retronyms - “nouns that have taken an adjective to stay up to date and to
fend off newer terms” or "word(s) or phrase(s) created because an existing term
that was once used alone needs to be distinguished from a term referring to a
new development, as . . . analog watch in contrast to digital
watch
.”

After a hot and hectic night, Burl awoke at 9am fever free! Yay!!!! He's still got a cold but that's nothing compared with the last couple days. Phew!

Ivo and Ryan went for a walk to the bookstore, now Ivo's sleeping. Burl's nursing. Our artificial Xmas tree is 3/4 of the way installed/built - whatever the verb is. I hope Burl lets us finish before Ivo gets up - I think a wee bit o' the magic will be lost on Ivo if he sees the tree deflated and smushed as is.

Our dinner is made - curried purple sweet potatoes with lentils. The house is feeling wintery - I think it's 22C, though. Brrr.

Pics from the Thailand-Philippines baseball game Thursday. The game was scoreless. The Philippines was declared the winner of the B-level teams (also starring; Thailand, Hong Kong, Pakistan). So now the Philippines is getting slaughtered (10-run rule invoked) by each of the A-level teams; Taiwan, Korea, Japan.

There weren't many people at the game we all attended together with Karin - but all the Taiwan games have been sold-out and both Japan and Korea have thousands of nationals in the stands. Ryan was at the Korea-Japan game last night and he said the announcers only spoke Japanese!!! Everything sponsored by Asahi - the emperor of beers.

Am I alone in thinking that when you deem yourself either so contagious or so vulnerable to airborne germies, that you feel you need to wear a surgical mask, maybe you shouldn't attend elective events like baseball games????.
