Ivo and Burl Not Quite a Week's Roundup!!!

Oh - how I wish I had posted this week! And, oh - how I can't understand why I had no time!

SOOOOOO MUCH is happening.

• Ivo's potty training... Self-motivated. Off and on, over the past year we've talked about it and tried. Obviously, we haven't pushed or prioritized this too much. We thought his classmates' example would spur him on... I thought it would happen earlier, I admit. For a long time, Ivo's known if/when he needed to poop and even pee - it's not too hard for the rest of us to pick up on his poop-cues, either. Thursday evening when Ivo was hunkering down, Gail asked him if he'd like to use the toilet - he said yes. I took him in and set him up. Gave him his I'm-a-Big-Boy-and-I-Use-the-Potty book and left him for a few minutes. A total success! He takes about 5 minutes. Poor guy fell off the toilet tonight. But I think he remains determined!



• Burl imitates EVERYTHING! He gives and takes. He waves and says "hi" in the cutest way anyone ever has. Burl's favorite thing to play with these days is my cell phone. He pokesat the buttons with his thumbs like he's text messaging and he holds it to his ear to talk - also it tastes pretty good. He uses a bowl and spoon and air-feeds himself and others. His walking is coming along. He is getting more and more content with Gail when Ryan and I are away. He likes her LOTS when we're here:)



• Ryan and I went to dinner with Cathy, Mary and Karin on Sunday. It was a veggie-friendly hot-pot. It involved A LOT of fungi. Slippery.
  


• Mary and I got our hair cut on Sunday - I think I'll LOVE my hair in a couple weeks.



• Cathy and I got a massage on Tuesday - best ever.



• Also - even though she deserves her own post - for now, we welcome little Maya to the world. She was born Friday 1/18.

I've got lots more - but I can't not post any longer. Everything is awesome!
