Everything is in order.
Ivo's new passport arrived registered mail today. We went to immigration and took care of bidness. Easy. Not too bad.
While we were there, Mark from Jen Ai Hospital, where Burl was born, called and wanted me to send 60 pictures and 6 videos of Burl to the hospital to help them prepare for their 5th anniversary celebration. It sounded crazy. I got home and checked the email he'd sent. It's still crazy but now I don't feel...compelled. It's some sort of contest for yr baby to be the Foreign Ambassador. Both Olivia and Dylan have been. It's kinda looking like Burl's turn but, um, no way. Here is Burl's page... underwhelming. Back when it was new, there was a LAME prayer-ish thing instead of the no-less-ridiculous "We have been given this precious gift..." message. I told Mark we were uncomfortable with the prayer cuz we're atheists...
As vain as I am, I'm not so much into exploiting my kids. There's a party at the hospital and the kid who is the ambassador gets to be ogled and touched by everyone at the HOSPITAL. Ick and NO.

Tessa and Alison were over this afternoon. All the kids played so nicely and sweetly together. Tessa's cuteness is matched by her excellent disposition.

Here's tonight's dinner. I used the hand-cranked food processor that Gail brought us. It's excellent! It didn't mask the veg (for Ivo "'member, I don't like da vegetables") as I'd dared to dream but, man, it's still great!
This is 2 cups long brown rice, 1 cup lentils, 1/2 lb fresh tomatoes, 3 cups organic chicken broth (yay co$tco!) 1 red pepper, 1 huge carrot, 1 purple onion, 1 bulb garlic, 2 cups basil. I cooked it like risotto. First saute-ed the coursely chopped onion and carrots in olive oil until onion was soft and transluscent. When they were cool, I hand-cranked them into a course puree. Then I tossed the rice and lentils into the olive oily pan, they fried for a bit stirring then I added tomatoes and red pepper that were hand-crank-pureed raw and some organic chicken stock. After a few minutes, I stirred in the chopped and cooked onion and carrots. After the stock came to a boil, I turned it down and covered for 45 minutes. At this point I added the hand-crank-processed basil. Cooked 15 more minutes. Served with parmesan cheese. We loved it, even Burl!
Our manual food processor is very very similar to this one from Te$co - except ours in black (cooler).
