A Little Ivo Overheard

Much of this is from our walk with Grammie Gail yesterday during which we ran into many many holiday-makers and tourists.

• When asked where he's from, Ivo said, "From Canada!"


• When asked how old he is, Ivo said, "3 years old, suckazz!"


• "Xin nian kwai le!" "Happy New Year!" to many many


• When the waiter came to the table, before anyone said anything – including the waiter - Ivo said, “I will have a milk shake. I will have a banilla milk shake – Oh! With banana on top.”


• When I told him that Burl will want to play with his flashlight, Ivo said, “No, Burl don’t need a want it!!!!”
• "How you doing up/down/back dere?"
• "Papa!!! You have a chance, you bring my polar bear?"
• "I look like a monkey, hang on a tree. Hoo hoo, haa haa!"
• "I come up here to check out you out...how doing up here?" He often says "Check it/me out!"
• While watching Polar Express, Ivo announced, "I'm da real Santa Claus." He gave Burl and me kisses and then brought over a basket of toys to pass out, dump out. Then another basket dumped. I asked him to put some toys back in the baskets - which he did. I told him he was doing a great job and "Real Santa Claus, you're kicking butt!" He said, "Yes, I am!"
