getting stronger every day

Fridays are great because Ryan doesn't work until after lunch - and for all the reasons that most people like Fridays.

This morning we talked to Grampie Doug on the computer. Pics of Ryan and the boys as they appeared to Doug via webcam.

We ate cai bao and ran errands. Ryan picked up Burl's ARC and I went to get my phone fixed. While I was at the phone co., they gave me a DSL bill - which was a day late (so can't be paid at a convenience store). I paid it. When I got home, I found out that Ryan had paid the exact same bill last night, so I had to go back to the phone company. No problem, I got the money returned lickety-split.

We've been working on Ivo's sleep schedule and habits. Also having to force more baths on the guy. Neither is without its share of torment and screaming. It's sad - but eventually I guess, he'll be happier - even if it's only because I'm not bald and riddled by tics... Ivo's doing great at night going to sleep with Ryan. They spend an hour relaxing upstairs and then it's over.

Naps are another story. Ivo will not sleep if I'm around him. He demands booby and he strains and struggles to stay awake. It doesn't matter how long he nurses, he wakes up when I stop. And he screams inconsolably, lashing out. So nap is requiring something different. Because I need Ivo to sleep when it's just us (boo hoo - apparently Gail found her passport), I want him to get used to me putting him to sleep. The first day, it worked great, the next 2, it worked after 25 minutes and then 20 minutes (from one day to the next) of heart-wrenching screaming accompanied by cries of "Want bao bao grammie!" SO, while it sounds like bad stuff, it involves resting - bao bao/20-30min of tv and/or books and then I leave him to sleep with the gate up and I go into Grammie's room. If I stay, no matter how tired he is, he'll jump around and get crazier - and it's too much to have Burl around Ivo when he's overtired and acting out. Boo hoo. But getting better.

Today Burl, Ivo, Gail and I went to Toys r us. Very fun - I think Burl enjoyed it too! But I forgot to bring the camera so no pics.

Today Ivo hugged me, looked at Burl and said, "want that Burl run away." Then he giggled. Super cute.
