Ivo didn't go to sleep until after 1:30am on Saturday night. We got home from the party about 12:30 and maybe he slept in the car... but that's only about a half hour and in no way substitutes for a night's sleep, Ivo, if yr reading this!
Sunday morning, Ryan and I slept late - by our standards. Between us, we know Ivo was awake at 8:30 and 9:30 but just let us sleep til he climbed on Ryan's face around 10am.
Nice Sunday. No nap. Aaron and Fiona came over. Ivo's seen Fiona only a few times and this was her first visit to our house. After initial hesitation, she seemed happy to play. She was born in Oct 2004 - she's about 2-1/2 months older than Ivo. She's much taller. If you had to guess her age, you'd probably guess 4 or 5. Fun Day.
Sunday night Ivo told me, "Ivo-Dash de papa love Ivo-Dash." He told me again today. I told him he's super right. Ivo has been sitting by himself reading books. Very cute. He isn't telling stories but he identifies the pictures and sometimes counts. When he plays with his dolls - usually one at a time, sometimes 2 - he provides full narrative. They/It is fighting, Spiderman save the baby the fire, Superman take the car...
Pics of Ivo playing with/around Fiona and dinner Sunday night. First time he's ever fallen asleep while eating!

Today, Burl, Ivo and I went out to Heather and Dylan's. Nice visit - no pics tho:( I'm working on remembering everything all the time... After D-man's house, we went to CarreFour and bought a few English-Chinese picture books for Ivo, a Spiderman action figure and - FINALLY - sandals. Ivo hasn't tried them on - he refuses - but I held them up to his shoes when he was sitting in the cart - they seemed a little big but that's the direction we're headed. We got them at the Fila outlet shop. I've been looking for awhile. Ivo has been resolutely against it. However the design of these is so similar to his old pair, they're blue and seem made of descent materials that won't stink too bad... I'm half hoping he won't notice and ...poof! one day he notices he's been wearing these sandals for weeks.

Ivo asks us - and always asks "Ba'y-Burl," "sleep good? good dream? uh huh. ok yep." Sweet and funny.
