Same same. At play and asleep:)
Also of note:
- Word Maven Patricia T. O'Conner on the Leonard Lopate show discussing differences b/w British and US English. Oh how I wish they'd include a discussion of Canadian English!Interestingly, she posits that much of what is often considered American varients actually date back to before 1776 - and are actually British innovations. For example, dropping the hard r-sound, the Francophilic "-re" ending - on words like theatre and centre, and the final "-t" instead of "-ed" - on words like spoilt and learnt. LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW HERE.
- Taiwan makes it onto Gawker! The comments are funny.
