Ivo brownies, art-rock, xmas tree

This past weekend was fun fun fun even though Ivo is getting his molars which is painful, pitiful and feverish.

Ivo's had a recurring fever since Thursday night. Super hot but no other symptoms besides gnashing and gnawing, disrupted sleep, lethargy and an increased desire to nurse. When not feverish, he's crazy happy and energetic. Since Ivo's other teething hasn't involved fever and he's seldom sickly, we've just now found that Motrin reduces Ivo's fevers faster than Tylenol.

He's nursing much more especially at throughout the night. As his 2nd birthday is approaching, some of my hopes regarding him self-weaning are fading... This is pretty much the opposite of what I was anticipating. So now, I'm thinking that when he sees the baby nursing, he'll eventually stop, distancing himself from babyness and firmly planting his flag in bigness. As it is, he already points to himself and says, "Big". He also points at himself and says "I hot." when he's feverish.

Saturday we went to an art opening on FuXing road at a converted old brewery. It was awesome. Lots of bands played, including our favorite .22, and dj's - Ivo had never seen a record player before and had never heard Jackson 5's abc! Ivo wore his space suit and was in good company cuz Ronnie wore orange coveralls too, proclaiming himself, "safety man" or some such.

Sunday, we moved furniture and set up the xmas tree. We haven't decorated it yet - and it's nice how gradual the tree setup is going cuz it really gives Ivo a chance to take it all in. Today, Ivo and I went to HOLA to buy the kind of lights I like - white balls that look like stars and snow. He ran around looking at all the christmas stuff, happily shrieking and clapping. When he thought I wasn't looking, he was talking to the larger-than-he-is inflatable snowman, I overheard, "WOW!"

Before we set up the tree, Ivo and Ryan went to Aaron's house for a once-in-a-lifetime-so-far playdate with both Fiona and Shannon. Both girls were born Oct 2004 - it's Fiona's house. I hear that Ivo and Fiona scuffled - but Ivo held his own even though shorter by a head. Maybe Ryan took pics...

Anyway, while they were out, I did groceries and cooked soup and brownies. We called the brownies cake - cuz Ivo knows cake. When we asked if he wanted any, he nodded, held his fingers up in a V and said, "Yep. Want 2. Big."

Amazing!

The pics of Ivo in Indians' hat are from 28 Nov - an early Thursday morning. We went to Startbucks and then played at the park before meeting Heather and Dylan at the gym.

This pic of Ivo and Ryan sleeping is the first picture I took in December. I'm not sure why the focus is so soft - I'm beginning to doubt my lovely camera... Anyway, I went to get tsai bao and soymilk and these guys went back to sleep! And they're so cute. Ivo looks just like a blond miniature Ryan!

The picture of the living room is from right now. That's Ivo sleeping on the couch which is why I'm able to post :)
